How To Go From A Boss To A Leader In Business

Updated 08 December 2020

Introduction

A boss is who could Instruct while a leader is one who could direct, being a boss is not bad especially when you want people to get things done the way you want them to do it without excuses, many workers hate their boss because of the way that they are being treated, some have resigned from their former jobs just because of their boss, many employees wish to fire their boss someday, the internet has made a lot of people fire their boss and work for themselves, most of them will tell you that it is a thing of joy to fire their boss, stating how rude they were treated, this people have started an online business and they are profiting from it, to be able to pay their bills and not work for someone else, this is the dream of many people.
It is true that a boss pays employees for work done and employees must do the work if they want to be paid, this is usually the agreement between the employee and the boss, but the boss can make it unconducive for employees to be able to work comfortably, little thing could go wrong and the boss is shouting and screaming this can easily turn off employees and make them sad, but on the other hand, some employees who are not ready to listen and do not want to do their job well, this can make the boss angry and that can result in being hard on them.

There is not a lot of difference between a leader and a boss, because their common goal is to make sure that the job is done there is no pampering in this, but it is just that one is tougher to be around with and the other is acceptable to be around with, a leader can understand that mistakes can be made, but to a boss mistake is not acceptable, a leader can tell you what to do and gives room for your opinions, but to a boss, doing what you are told  without question, is the expectation. Good leaders would want to understand and interact with their followers, this is when their opinions are heard and understanding their pains could take place, to ensure that they are comfortable.

  • Learn To Relate With People
People should be respected and treated equally because you never know, there are some former employees who are billionaires today, most business heads where once employees, so if you are the head of a business, understand how would you feel if you were treated that way, how would it make you feel.
Give room to know what your employees do not like about you or the company, the ego can have a major role to play here if it can let you then you will be a good leader, Most of these company heads are being consumed by their egos and that can limit them from interacting with their employees in a better way and this is not good for business.
  • Learn To Teach And Not Instruct
Mistakes can be made and you can learn from mistakes, this  is normal, there could be guides on how employees can be able to reduce the mistakes that they do, that is why programs and training should be put in place, to make sure that employees know what they are doing, you can correct them by teaching them.
